   Today also a book by Dionysios Byzantios, " Anaplous Bosporou". An ancient book about the people,villages and life around the Bosphorus, Istanbul. The book was written in either first or second century and we have little information about the writer himself. There supposed to be two other books written by the same author which couldn't make it to modern day.

   An interesting note from the book is about the "Bosphorus" name. ''The name is a combination of two Hellenic words. "bous" which means "bull or cow", and "poros" which means "gate" which I assume makes Bosphorus a sister to "Oxford" which also means "Bull gate".''
